Tracy Cash has worked
tirelessly for children as a play therapist at the Family
Support & Treatment Center for almost 4 years. Before
coming to Family Support, she worked with children who had
experienced loss and grief. She has also spent her
vacation time working with children at a summer camp who have
experienced significant burns. Her work is now focused on
children who have experienced sexual abuse, physical abuse,
neglect, and many other forms of trauma. As a trauma
specialist, Tracy seeks to fine tune her skills with the latest
treatment modalities. She is always looking for proven
methods to help children heal and grow.
Tracy loves to work with the parents
of the children that she serves. She lovingly shares her
knowledge and understanding with parents. She is dedicated
to empowering parents to help their own children, and to educate
parents on how to keep their children safe from harm.
Tracy has spent her own time and money
to educate herself to help children. She went the extra
mile and completed the extensive training to become a Registered
Play Therapist, and soon will hold the status of supervisor.
While serving at Family Support & Treatment Center, she went
through a painful surgery on her face to remove cancer.
This left her with a scar. Tracy worried more about the
scar bothering the children she treats than her own adjustment
to a traumatic event.
Tracy is a blessing to children.
Her calm and comforting energy soothes a little one's fear,
moves the child through pain to healing, and always honors the
individual spirit to take flight and soar.
